The 2009 Silverstone Classic attracted record attendance of 65,500, a 15% increase on 2008 and against a backdrop of the worst recessions for a generation.
Everyone had a great time viewing 600 rare classic race cars battle through 21 races covering 90 glorious years of F1, Le Mans, Sports and Touring car heritage. Away from the track, 80 car clubs presented more than 3,000 classic cars and Harley-Davidson® treated spectators to some dare-devil stunts.
In the air, the Aerostars defied gravity whilst back on the ground the kids loved the free Victorian Funfair and their parents browsed around the 80 retail outlets and looked out for the many celebrities from the world of rocking and racing.
As evening approached on Friday and Saturday, huge crowds gathered in the music arena to dance with Toploader, Blue. Pussycat Dolls and Santana.
