In 2009, Colin Turkington, racing for independent team WSR, managed to steal the championship title from Jason Plato in what proved to be a dramatic final race showdown. With Vauxhall pulling out for 2010, it will be a true test of courage and all to play for as we look set to welcome an all independent team championship to Silverstone next year.
Expect frantic, no holds barred action from lights to flag from the tin top boys, who have such a massive reputation for fun and excitement. There are no flimsy little cars in this championship, only hard and fast tourers, driven by racers who are never afraid to rub paint if the situation demands it. The BTCC has one of the richest histories in British motor racing, and 2010 looks set to only add to the enthralling story.
The Touring Car weekend features a busy schedule of racing, with many unmissable support races. Away from the track there is plenty to keep the whole family entertained.
